Living crafts of Rajasthan
Five techniques. One textile tradition.
Hand Block Printing
Wooden blocks hand-carved from teak, dipped in natural dyes, pressed onto fabric one stamp at a time. A single bedsheet requires 450+ individual impressions. No two prints are ever identical.
Why it matters for your home:
Natural dyes are gentle on skin. The slight irregularity of hand printing is the mark of authenticity.
Hand Embroidery
Needle and thread, guided by hand. No machine can replicate the texture and depth of Rajasthani embroidery. Each motif carries meaning: the peacock for grace, the lotus for purity, the vine for prosperity.
Why it matters for your home:
Embroidered textiles gain character with age. They become family pieces, kept and passed down.
Handloom Weaving
Each thread is placed by hand on a wooden loom. The rhythm of the shuttle, the tension of the warp: it is a meditation that produces fabric with a drape and breathability machines cannot achieve.
Why it matters for your home:
Handloom fabric breathes naturally. It is cooler in summer, warmer in winter, and softer with every wash.
Screen Printing
Screens are prepared by hand, dyes mixed to exact specifications, and each pass across the fabric is guided manually. It allows for more intricate patterns while keeping the handmade soul.
Why it matters for your home:
Crisp, detailed patterns with the colour depth only hand-mixed dyes can produce.
Natural Dyeing
Indigo from plants, rust from iron oxide, turmeric yellow, pomegranate beige. Every colour in our palette comes from nature. The dyeing process takes days, sometimes weeks, because natural dyes bond slowly with fabric for lasting colour.
Why it matters for your home:
No harsh chemicals touching your skin or your family's. Colours that age beautifully instead of fading harshly.
